Forgive me if this has already been covered; I don't get the chance to browse the forums nearly as much as I used to.
I have not found a way to increase the cache in BOINC on my phone and it continually runs out of tasks during the day while I am at work. I know the FAAH jobs probably aren't that much data but my office is kind of a dead zone for data so it would be hard to transmit on regular 3g/4g coverage anyway. Am I missing the option to increase the cache, or is there no option available? I looked under advanced options as well as double tapping the project, with no success. I don't want to be pressing the update button before leaving for work as I know that's hard on the servers but would like to keep my phone busy as much as possible. Thanks in advance. |

Have a look in this screenshot collection thread [not done anything with it yet] http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35461 . Going by the setting screenshots, it's been given the extreme KISS, requiring a small paradigm shift in thinking. Guess, but that's what it is, the caching is determined by the amount of storage you permit and how much to leave free. Since the client is designed to default crunch off-line when not on WIFI, supposed it's has a buffering capacity.
----------------------------------------Notably, web-site profile settings but for project selections do not transfer to a client, in fact, I've seen notes that all that code is to be removed, may already have been... no cc_config either. Whatever needs extra logging, is activated through the debug settings screen. Those with experience with android and know how it practically roks... please 1 step forward.
