Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

I've been running BOINC for the last couple days on my phone, a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. Results produced Sunday and Monday seem to be just fine, but this morning I noticed that BOINC updated on my phone, and it seems every unit processed since then has resulted in "Computation Error".

I've just restarted the device and I'm going to monitor it to see if that makes any difference, and was curious to see if anyone else had run into this. I fully support the project, but I don't want to be generating non-useful results, and being new to this, I'm not really sure how to go about troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

I'm getting the exact same issue with my Samsung S3 - all the tasks for past couple days are returning back as "Error"

Does anyone know why? Or how to fix it?

Thank

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

[Please] post an error log from My Grid > Result Status > Click Error link. It's one step to tell readers and techs [] to identify batch/task and analyze an error report. The 2nd step is to mail the Event log on your device to yourself [that is the apparent method and then paste that too on the forums. How to mail is posted on this forum... I don't know, since my Samsung smartphone does not have Android OS on it :(.

Edit: Good old Than and Then again. cool

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

I've since rebooted my Samsung S3, so the only logs that I have only relate today, looking at my returned results for the Android device, it has successfully completed 4 and they are pending validation.

I have 7 pages of Error for the 14th August and it looks like the tasks only ran for approx 3 mins, this was the first one which errored

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

I have a US version of the S3 and will test this today. I recently got an update from Samsung to update my OS on the phone.

Thanks,

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

Hi all, i didn't take time to search about this but i am experiencing the same error since i installed the agent on my S3.
Many jobs calculated and returned for one month now, apparently without any problem but all reported as "Error"in the result report.
I have stopped the agent. :-S

Re: Many Computation Error results today, possibly caused by BOINC upgrade?

too soon to tell here but i have a Droid x2 that was throwing pretty much all signal 9 errors since the 2nd, usually after a short computaion time. prior to that it's been very solid.
It's never turned off but this morning I powered it off and on. So far have returned one valid, more in progress that have put in enough time to make me cautiously optimistic...
glad i saw this thread, i haven't been paying attention to that particular device for a while.

FWIW- since powercycling the device it's got one valid, 4 or 5 PV, no errors...
