I have been running this on my computers for around 3 or 4 years I think (don't really remember when I first downloaded it). Then just a few weeks ago it seems to have just stopped working.

Anytime I open up BOINC all my tasks are Suspended. That is not unusual for when you first boot it up. However the problem is they almost never "unsuspend." I shut everything down, have plenty of memory and free CPU but it never runs.

What is really weird though is that even though they are all suspended and nothing is progressing my CPU usage immediately jumps up to 100%. So my computer is computing, but nothing is getting done.

There are some very rare instances where if I wait long enough the status changes to running but even then they make almost no progress (like 24 hours of work results in 0.05% progress).

It failed for so long that finally the projects cleared themselves out and some new ones downloaded. I'm letting it run now and in the time its taken me to write this post its already finished almost 10% of some tasks.

Can anyone tell me what caused this so I can avoid/fix it in the future? Thanks for your help
