I pay £5 a month for my VPS server and I run FreeBSD, use it for email and hosting websites. I think it would cost more in electricity to run a Raspberry PI as a server otherwise I would.

Speaking of electricity, my wife wants me to cut down on my computer use and my WCG results will be lower as a result. Our bill is twice as much as anyone else she knows.

I reckon my Pi 2 is using less than 5W (I'll check tonight). That's less than £8/year with current electricity prices. A Pi plus a decent-sized SD card should be more than enough to run mail and web, I reckon?
