Re: Good morning team.

Morning team :) I was wondering what programs you guys use for BOINC if any? I know a lot of you guys have several machines so do you use a program which allows you to access them all from one machine like BOINCTasks? If so what do you use?

I tried BoincTasks a few years ago and didn't get on with it, but I tried again a few months ago (when WCG upped their official version of BOINC) and I now like it and use it all the time.

Re: Good morning team.

I just use the standard BOINC Manager GUI, which lets you connect to remote servers. All of my servers are set up to do auto-updates hourly, with a 2-day work-cache, so they pretty much run themselves.

I also tried BoincTasks a few years ago and didn't get on with it. Maybe I should revisit thinking

In the meantime I've been using TeamViewer which allows my OCD to micro-manage full rein. wink

Re: Good morning team.

Mamajuanauk, since I think you got your WSI server around the same time as I did, have you had anything from them about renewing it (assuming you bought it for a month rather than for multiple months)?

Since I didn't get my automated welcome-email, I'm probably going to chase it up over the weekend just in case they've also sent a reminder email somewhere else, too...

Yes, I've has a renewal invite.

You can also see the renewals in the services tab on your account area of the web site. where you can also edit 'Your Account' details to ensure the correct email address is defined

I use VNC to access some of my machines and others just login periodically direct, others don't get accessed unless I spot a problem with output on the device list on the WCG web/stats pages.

However, I try to do updates on a monthly basis, as all but 2 of my machines are Ubuntu is works well enough to update monthly.

Not tried other methods.

I manage tasks via the device manager on the WCG web/account

The copy of the welcome-email I was eventually sent (after chasing up the server not being online after 4 days) doesn't appear to have any details on logging into My Account on their website, it only gives me the user/pass they set on the server itself, and the details for DirectAdmin.

I've tried a password-reset on both of the email-addresses they "should" have on their system for me, and neither of them work as it claims the address doesn't exist on their systems.

Time to chase up with them...
