Not got easy access to a mail-client, at the moment, but think I have a way for Carlos to find his old BOINC version, depending on how he uninstalled it previously (had similar issues when I had a hard-drive crash a fair while ago).

Any chance you could drop him a quick reply with the following suggestion, jonnieb-uk or someone else? The below instructions to try assume a Windows-7-esque install:

- Open up the Registry Editor: Start -> Run -> regedit
- Click on "Computer" to highlight it, right at the top of the left-frame list, then press CTRL+F (or go into the Edit menu, then select Find), and search for "Berkeley Open Infrastructure" (make sure the "exact string" tick-box is not checked).

The first result returned "should" contain about 20 different registry entries, one of which will be the "DisplayVersion" of the BOINC client/manager it still thinks is partially installed.

With that, you should be able to obtain the relevant verson-installer, so you can then properly uninstall, and then finally be able to grab the latest version and install it.

I see old Murphy has been around again! I tend to micro manage Boinc as I have not much else to do. Current target was 5 year badge for MCM, next would be a blast on result numbers which would be on FAAH.
On Monday night stats I was 15 RTDs short on MCM, which led me to believe that the next update last night would show me almost there, with PV jail holding the balance..........so..........I changed my project in anticipation!
Of course it all fell apart yesterday so I have no idea now what the situation is..........probably it was all my fault for expecting too much!
