SN2S
Temporary slow down for Say No to Schistosoma
Out of interest is there any update (s) in regards to when this will return to full weight?

No update yet. The supply of work units we have for SN2S currently is limited, so we're running at reduced speed to maintain the supply longer. Our goal is to return the project to full weight as soon as we are able (once we have more work units).

Re: LunchCrunch Report

Nice start from our newest member, Labinopper.

@TMC
Well today I've gotta say that I'm not a very happy chappy sad

On the 2nd September, I took my I7 to my local PC shop for a new Mobo as the Asrock Mobo had failed on me, fast forward 1 week and the new Mobo hadn't even been ordered, let alone fitted angry ... I was promised it would be ready by Tuesday, that then moved to today and now it's tomorrow crying

I've told the shop not to bother fitting the Mobo, I'll do it myself just as soon as it's delivered... Mobo or not, the system is coming home with me tomorrow afternoon and I'll fit it myself... Never having done it before, I'm kinda apprehensive but I've done some research and I'm confident I can do it without blowing the house apart, just gotta go nice and easy, slowly through the steps.

I must admit that it is about time I learned, I know most of everything else and if I knew on the 2nd September, what I know now I would have ordered the Mobo myself and had it up and running in a couple of days angry

Ohh well, atleast It'll gain me some experiance, the last hurdle jumped nerd

Am not surprised you're not a happy chappy, I wouldn't be either.
I've done a couple of complete builds before and just take it steady, don't rush and if in doubt then check and double check. I have melted a cpu due to a lack of care blushing They're not meant to smoke when the computer starts up!
And have a quality ale or two ready as a reward.
Talking of which, I'm enjoying a Cornish Mutiny from the Wooden Hand brewery.

I've got a "Proper Job" chilling in the fridge ready for tomorrow (or later today, depending how you look at it), as an Ale I've never tried, but an Old Spec Hen as backup in case I don't like the other.

I tried Cornish Mutiny the other day, strength wise, it was spot on, but it lacked a lot in taste, I only drank 1/2 of it before cracking open a Hedge Monkey silly

Good morning team. smile

@TMC, good luck with the build, Genhos is right about taking time to check each step before progressing to the next. Hope it goes well.

Thats pathetic customer services. I use a company called Scan, they're polar opposite to what you describe. Their customer service is outstanding. I'd had this rig for over a year when the MoBo failed, it was a well documented Sandy Bridge & SATA problem. They collected my PC, replaced the MoBo and returned it to me all within a week. Didn't cost me a penny.

Building a PC looks daunting at first, but all it consists of really is a few screws to hold the MoBo in the case, the rest is just slotting things into slots and putting plugs in to the receptacles!

Cornish Mutiny isn't the strongest flavoured ale around but it did go down nicely last night. Although not to your taste TMC, have you tried any others from Wooden Hand? I find they brew a nice ale, their dark ale/stout Black Pearl is my favourite.

Hedge Monkey is brewed down the road from you isn't it? Have they put it on tap in to your place yet? wink

Not tried a Proper Job, may well have to try and hunt one down.

I haven't tried any of the other Wooden Hand's yet, but I will biggrin
Glastonbury Ales are based in Somerton, so I'm afraid that a pipe would be far too expensive for me to install sad (cool idea though biggrin ).

I was advised by the bloke at my local store that Proper Job is the 3rd fastest selling Ale that they do (after Tribute, which is from the same company as proper job, and wychcraft from the wychwood brewery).

I'll report back on it later biggrin

Initial indications are that we are in for a very poor day activity-wise! sad

In the 09:00-12:00 (BST) slot only 28 members were active compared with the usual ~38!

Doesn't sound good, any known reasons why (or guess-timates?).

No idea. There's no chatter about any system problems and there's nothing obvious from my own results. So I guess it's just the usual mid-week blues - Thursday is traditionally our poorest performing day of the week.

We'll get a firmer indication from the LunchCrunch stats.
