Good morning everyone.
 Rod thank you for the comment. D A had started a sixth novel in the increasingly inaccurately named H2G2 trilogy. This is called the Salmon of Doubt, some of the ideas and themes you can see DA's humour, (damn why can I not use English English and not have USA English) it was finished by three or four friends, including Stephen Fry, that to my mind is poor. I still have the scripts and DVD's of of the broadcasts, worth listening to and remains a lot of fun. |

Good morning all. Suddenly my Macs have leapt into action with two out of the three showing spectacular rises in the Host averages. Do I understand? No way but I am grateful for the boost. My target to overtale Mike D Green (no. 9 UK) looks like it has been scuppered as he has suddenly woken up and more than trebled his output. Good for team UK but a bit of a disapointment for me as I have been slowly reeling him in.

Computers are still a mystery to me Rod, even after working in the industry for 30 years.
----------------------------------------I hope you all noticed the fine Diamond 50 for Mamajuanauk, and the 10 for TomNuttall and the 5 for TMC? I think it's the first time there's been 3 diamond badges in the same week. Stuff of dreams!

Congratulations to TMC, Mamajuanauk and Tom Nuttall on their diamond badges.  Not going to ask too many questions but a daily points tally of 60539. a results tally of 166 and daily run time 14:11:23:50 seems like this new build is doing well for record daily output. |

Good morning all. I think I have tracked down my performance loss to the MAC Spotlight indexing system. Using my (very) limited Unix skills I have disabled the indexing on all external discs and the performance has increased remarkably. I'll let it cook for a couple of days and see if there are any downsides. The disable command can be activated using mdutil from the terminal app (sudo mdutil -a -i off). Single discs can be enabled by adding a path and changing off to on.
