Re: Good morning team

When you referred to your Pain Consultant I thought that was a euphemistic reference to your missus!! I'm "glad" your condition has been recognised fully. I hope it makes a difference, although I know you'd rather be cured. I guess the opiates don't help with a sore throat?

Good morning team

Good morning everyone. smile Yeah allright I know it is afternoon.

DMNI Glad to see some things are showing a positive direction even if there is still much to do in getting your pain relief sorted. Hope that happens soon.

Came across a fascinating story just today, about a group of 50 black women who were 'computers' (old fashioned term) who were working at NASA in 1962 and helped John Glenn to make his first space flight. This is before Rosa Parks took the bus and before Martin Luther King had his dream.

This story is being made into film for release in 2017, called Hidden Figures.

I told her what you said, she was not amused! I liked it though.

I no longer take opiates, currently on Tapentadol. Google it's side effects, it looks very daunting indeed. Like any drug, it has its pro's and con's. It is not the panacea that I was led to believe, but it is slightly better than opiates, hopefully the adjustments will allow me to have a bit less pain during the day. Funny thing is I can sleep for hours when the drug wears off, as long as I am asleep already, could not do that on opiates, when I wake up it hits me like a brick wall though.
Unfortunately, it does not help with a sore throat.
My pain is such that sometimes I'm feeling great, but most times just average, when my pain is really bad it feels like the drug is doing nothing. This is the way it is.

Re: Good morning team

Good evening all.

My brain is finally cooling down after listening (with tears in my eyes) to the Japanese F1 commentary between 1am and 3am. Then I have had a (subdued) day of celebration for my birthday with a lunch time BBQ and a nice hour long dip in the pool. I've just been out on a 4km walk through Santa Cruz (pretty dangerous in the day - positively suicidal at night!) and am now contemplating a nightcap.

Good morning everyone. smile
DMNI Looked up Tapentodol on the N.I.C.E. website and it did not make pleasant reading. The American FDA also recomended that it was a better way to treat people instead of Opioid and Benzodiazepenes.
I do hope that in due course it proves to be a better way of managing your health.
After watching the highlights that Channel 4 broadcast think that LH started badly and then went on to do the "blame" game in respect of Verstappen, luckily Mercedes saw sense and withdrew their protest.

Good morning all.

I think LH44 is in a dark place at the moment. I'm sure that by the time we get to Austin he will be back to normal but at the moment he feels let down. Whether it is media hype or not, indications are that LH44 asked Mercedes to withdraw their protest about Verstappen's antics.

Re: Good morning team

Good Morning Team.

I did another 4km suicidal after dark walk last night (same route) but found it easier to wear my sunglasses and carry a stick (no not a white one). Drivers automatically think you are blind and stop their cars when you want to cross roads. I could get used to that.
