Re: HFCC Target 11?

Bumping the thread since it has been 50 days with no update.

Are there any news regarding HFCC and future targets? Official news here are missing and a deep link to the research institute on a project's description page does not exist anymore...

What I found is http://www.m.chiba-u.ac.jp/class/bioinfor/wcg/e/hfcc_e/news.html but that is even more outdated than official news here. :/

I understand that the Actual Research(TM) is a complicated stuff and it takes time to write home about. But doing it at least once a quarter would be quite reasonable, wouldn't it?

Re: HFCC Target 11?

Hello Aegis Maelstrom,
Expect a long delay. What is happening:
1) The potential drug candidates are being examined in the lab. It will be a long time before the resulting analyses are completed and published. Hope for good news when the lab work is completed.
2) After the disappointment with target #11, the project scientists are debating the path forward, holding discussions with outside researchers, considering alliances with new research institutes, etc. In short, it will be a while before we get new data and we may even get updated software. The 8-ball says: "Hazy". biggrin

Re: HFCC Target 11?

As long as the 8-ball doesn't say: "Stopped here" (like it happened with a couple of other projects I know, unfortunately), at least we have something to look forward to. I would very much like a chance to hit at least silver on this one, but if the scientists find something that says "search no more" then I'm glad I did my (very small) part too.

Cheers!
