HFCC Target 11?

Hi All
Haven't seen anything on Target 11, did I miss it?

I remember reading somewhere it was 'Due in April 2013' has it started, run and finished?

If not when is it coming, do we know?

Thanks for the update

No you didn't miss it.

No it didn't start, run nor finish.

No we don't know when it's coming.

The project status currently is "Intermittent". The last news was that work was waiting on the project scientists.

Re: HFCC Target 11?

Crystallization and xray mapping of a protein is not predictable. We don't know when or even if the scientists will succeed.

Re: HFCC Target 11?

Any chance we could get a status update from the project scientists on how Target 11 is coming along; good, bad, or otherwise? Just curious. This thread is getting a lot of traffic.

Re: HFCC Target 11?

When (if) we get this new target, I'd expect it to complete a lot quicker than the currently shown 90 day's estimate - as that was based on a lot more sciences being available (and thus, a far greater spread of the load).

PMM - I couldn't agree more, an update from 'The Project' would be very much appreciated!

Re: HFCC Target 11?

We don't know yet if there will be another target. They were having a lot of trouble getting its structure worked out. In the meantime, they are working on getting a paper published.

Re: HFCC Target 11?

Yes, thanks Viktors for that snippet of information.

I, too, hope the very best for them, and even if they don't manage to get Target 11 so it's possible to run on 'The Machine', we all know already that their particular project has been far more successful than they originally had planned (after all, they've got results from 7 more targets than they'd initially hoped for).
