Adding a venue should not require changing a bunch of code. The idea of a separate 'mobile' location to set web prefs for all your ''localhost' mobiles has been scrapped. Only local prefs will be used!
David Anderson [Sun, 4 Aug 2013 22:13:26 +0000 (15:13 -0700)] client (Android): don't use network preferences Many Android users had existing preferences with settings like "don't compute when idle" that make sense for PCs but not mobile devices. When this pref is enforced on Android, no computing happens and user confusion results. We're addressing this by using only local prefs on Android. We considered other approaches - e.g. having a "mobile" venue - but they're too complex. Note the comment on the idling devices, and u were not confused ?!? Suppose knreed et al can't be more overjoyed not having to customize their customizations to the customized device profile system... no extra curveballs whatever they're cooking up in redesigning that web interface ;>) |
