Restarting task ... using fahv version 703

Hi!

On one of my machines I found out that some of the tasks are restarted again and again and all previous work is lost:

7/23/2013 5:41:34 PM World Community Grid Restarting task FAHV_x3AO1_IN_FBP_0047474_0355_1 using fahv version 703
7/23/2013 5:54:49 PM World Community Grid Restarting task FAHV_x3AO2_IN_FBP_0047791_1318_1 using fahv version 703
7/23/2013 5:57:00 PM World Community Grid Restarting task FAHV_x3AO1_IN_FBP_0047474_0355_1 using fahv version 703

What can be the cause for such a behaviour?

Many thanks,
Marius

Don't know why you started a new topic, but here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35387 it is already being discussed. The techs have a potential fix in alpha test. The workaround is to set the BOINC CPU Time Throttle to 100%, but that may not be an option for you due to heat issues.

I have the same problem, my tasks keep restarting, what to do?
Also I have noticed that some of my work starts again after reboot or shut down on my computer using Win 7 sp1.

Here's my post again to answer your question what to do... I've highlighted the bit that "may" work for you ;>)

For cases where reboot causes a start from zero, the "often" functional workaround is to first close the BOINC service via the BOINC Manager Exit menu [optional] and wait a little. Only then reboot or shutdown. This gives BOINC time to write all work files to disk, but hoping the currently alpha tested solution also solves this problem and the orphaned processes that some report [process continues even if task is suspended or BOINC exited].
