Basicly only two projects running

Fight aids @ home and drug search for leishmaiasis have over 85% of the results yesterday. If one has the default profile than one will not have the project drug search for leishamiasis checked so one will get only Fight aids @ home. Both of these projects are averaging around 8.7 hours per result. So it does not matter which of the two one is getting since they both have the same average time per result. This explains why the reduction to less than 600,000 results for the last two days. I like to look at how many results I get everyday and when we get work units with 8.7 hours per result, my number of results goes down. So it means that the only time I will advance in rank is when someone quits. It seems lately that the person who quits is usually about 10 to 14 days ahead of me. It just means that my rank will only change about once every two weeks. I just wish they would try to reduce the average time per result for those two projects to a more reasonable 4 hours.

Not going to attempt explaining how it works. I'll leave that to others with much more insight, but to ask you to look at the list below and ask yourself the question if you recognize, in this short series, which the weekend days were (Hint: Last weekend nearly exactly the same result numbers as the weekend before).

Re: Basicly only two projects running

Rick, I agree with you that there are basically two projects that are currently available to crunchers since SN2S is temporarily on hold (the purists would state 2.5 projects who would include CEP2 biggrin). How do I put this politely?... uh, the lack of projects is temporary and there are still two projects (or 2.5, depending how you look at it) projects to pick from. All projects are important, so it really doesn't matter which one you crunch (although I do understand we have favorite ones). I'm sure we will all be back to our own priorities in a little while if we have a little patience.
