Helping a friend get a badge...
----------------------------------------I ran my rig then detached I attached using weak key and have crunched for some days and all was well. I re-booted and started Boincmanager only to find it has started on my account not my friend's Having never stopped a machine before whilst helping my questions are: How to get back to my friend's account and the work that I was running? I detached and attached from the BOINC folder in cli Did I do this wrong that this machine has not kept these settings? EDIT: I look in lookup_account.xml and see my authenticator. Should it not be that odf my friend? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by OldChap at Jun 10, 2013 7:57:31 PM] |

Don't wanna know how you switched to the friends account, the xml file edit or the boinccmd --project_attach method. Makes no sense what you describe.
----------------------------------------1) Account Manager in use? 2) Was the file modified date changed since last edit? edit: You can safely assume that the friends work is gone. Do the detach and boinccmd method as I recently described on the forums with your friend's weak account key. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 10, 2013 8:07:37 PM] |

Account manager? No, Sounds like something else I need to learn about.
----------------------------------------The reason to reboot was to use app_config which was for some reason not working when using read config. Did this change modify the file? I don't know. I have assumed that using boinccmd --project_detach as I did followed by boinccmd --project_attach would in fact change the authenticator file. The only reason I mention it. Have done as you suggested and used boinccmd --project_detach then boinccmd --project_attach once more. I shall look at this more closely once the timing is less critical. Thanks once again Rob ![]() |
