I joined the Quake-Catcher Network and I noticed it set the deadline to 5 days with 1313 hours of work. That seems to be a problem because it is a physical impossibility. Any ideas what could be wrong? I'm running 6.10.58.

You ask questions about it on their forum, this is WCG, who cares what they set

Oh. I was under the impression this was posted to BOINC Agent Support. My bad... I thought something might be hosed up with my BOINC after the update to 6.10.58. I'll be sure not to post again.

Any ideas what could be wrong? I'm running 6.10.58. I was running QCN on me laptop... the err time, normally like 24 hours IIRC, could indicate the accelerometer in your laptop is not properly detected, which then has these tasks run ad-infinitum and trickle up useless information [but the project knowing where you are exactly]. The graphics brings up the sensor information and if it's valid , and yes, for help on their app visit the QCN network Good luck, And for Scribe, it's a so called NCI, a Non-CPU-Intense app like WUPprop, taking like 0.1% of 1 CPU processor thread, but not all laptops have the right bits onboard. If you live in an earthquake prone region, like we do, you're more inclined to hook up. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 8, 2013 6:11:35 PM] |

Since I don't know anything about QCN, my only advice is to bring up BOINC Manager in the Advanced View, select the Projects Tab, select QCN and then Properties. Scroll down to the end and the last line should show the Duration Correction Factor. It should be about 1. If it is 10,00 then the Scheduler in BOINC is going to guess an impossibly long time. However, this should not affect the actual running of the QCN task.
Just guessing. Ask on the QCN forum for expert advice. Lawrence |
