Hi,
It's generally because the original msi file that came with your first BOINC install is no longer there. Tell us what that exact version was [we guess the WCG v 6.10.58, which you can fetch again via My Grid or top of forum or the older 5.10.45]. We'll give you a link to redownload anyhow. Hopefully you can then run that to first uninstall the old one and then run the new. |

The first install I did was: wcg_boinc_6.2.28_windows_intelx86.exe
I am running Windows XP SP3 Home Edition Version 2002. |

Had forgotten entirely about that WCG only version. Here's the link http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/wcg_boinc_6.2.28_windows_intelx86.exe
----------------------------------------Sounds like you still have it given the exact file name in your reply. Run it and choose uninstall and let us know if this allows to install a newer release. If not you may need to run the MS Installer Cleanup tool. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-...ler-CleanUp-Utility.shtml edit: OK, see you resolved in meantime, and have marked this reply so.
