Would be great to be able to buy a "World Community Grid" - Lapel Badge.
----------------------------------------My experience of wearing a lapel badge to various social functions, is that people ask what the badge is for. Having a World Community Grid badge would be a good opener to tell people about the grid. A alternative might be some supplier that will make up one off badges at not too expensive cost, preferably in the UK in my case. Anybody able to suggest one. ![]() |

Hello KeithSloan,
This is related to a discussion that goes back to late 2005. I eventually got the official WCG tshirt before it disappeared. The WCG wavy crosshatch symbol is trademarked. The various corporate policies that apply to its use require very labor-intensive work to obtain and maintain the right for us to use it for things like your excellent suggestion. For a while there was a movement on the forum to establish an unofficial symbol for the WCG based on various globes to represent the world. But our forum membership showed insufficient interest, which is what one would expect. A major point of WCG is to allow the members to set-and-forget. We habitual posters are a very unusual subset of the membership. Lawrence |
