Re this post http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=424319 , was there a wink or was this serious? Submit your CV and commit. If you can't, don't, where the few that came after me did not exactly last very long, before neither... maybe it's me [LoL].

Well, where do I sign up? I have no plans of leaving the grid.
I'll start studying the FAQ pages, cool

Hi Falconet,
Well, where do I sign up? I have no plans of leaving the grid.
I'll start studying the FAQ pages,
There is no sign up sheet as such. Just send a note to the WCG staff using Contact to say that you are interested. The staff will study your posts and at the very least keep you in their thoughts.

wink

Re: Community Advisors

In the light of SekeRob's 4+ months absence from the forum I reiterate my question that started this thread (June 2013):
Will WCG consider appointing new CAs?

knreed responded:
...this is something that action is overdue on our part and that we are discussing

11 months later and ????

Admittedly WCG Techs and Admins have had a higher profile in the forum of late, and this is very welcome, but it should not be at the expense of their core priorities.

Note to Admins: The Forum Overview , in particular the list of Community Advisors, needs updating.

Re: Community Advisors

As jonnieb-uk noted, we are continually monitoring the forums and we have noticed that many of our members are stepping forward and doing a great job of assisting our community by responding to member questions at all times of the day and night. As a result of the support provided by many of our members, we are considering taking a different approach in how we acknowledge the different levels of support that members provide to our volunteer community.

As you know, our priority continues to be supporting existing research projects, launching new ones, ensuring supply of research work for the volunteers and providing the researchers with timely, valid results. As a result, it may be several months before we are able to define the details of this new approach of recognizing member support.

Until then, we want to thank you for your patience and thank everyone that has stepped forward to assist our members! We're always grateful for your support.

Maybe this might be an idea to fill the gap in creative progress

Re: Community Advisors

Thanks Juan for taking the time to reply to us.
Really appreciated.

The reply to which you refer was posted in May 2014 in response to the original post 10 months earlier in June 2013!

Another 10 months have passed and the WCG Forum Overview cited in the original post remains unchanged and still lists the late Dave Bell as a CA.

Not much appreciation here! sad

In passing I note that Juan Himdo's last post in the forum was Sep 2014. Possibly she was caught up in IBM's January downsizing confused
