I was happily crunching away on GFAM WUs (all being Minimum Quorum: 1, Replication: 1) and all being valid right away. Then my laptop needed a reboot (I shut everything down manually) and let the reboot proceed. Well, it seems that 3 WUs went belly up and errored out. Now all the WUs that the laptop is receiving are Minimum Quorum: 1, Replication: 2... which means that the WUs will be in Pending Verification until my wingman's WU gets valid. I perfectly understand the reason for this situation (I'm not trusted anymore
---------------------------------------- ). So my question is: For how long will I be in the dog house before I'm trusted again? I did a search, but couldn't find the answer (I know it's out there some place). If I remember correctly, I think it has to do with a %, but I can't remember the % of what.Thanks, CJSL Crunching for a better future... |

5 Valid will fix you up No longer the case [if it still is], as was my own experience, recently. Needed 20 valid, so as long as the wingman does not deliver, it will take a whole lot longer than 5... anything you buffer now will be quorum 2 until that critical number has been reached. (Think the old number -is- in the FAQ under the Reliability topic. Not to argue, But...
been there done that, may have to d/l 20 but once 5 go valid it will switch back to single issue wu. When I get in that mode, I cherry pick the next wu to start based on if the wingman is waiting for me, I do it now, (adds to the valid count). any single issue wu you have in cache will go Pending Verification until you get your 5. NOTE I say 5 VALID not pv or p(val). depending on system rate of return AND wingman rate of return may well take 20 or more returns to get 5 valid |

Well, only when consecutive 20 were validated, did the singles start to come again to that host, as I noted, but if it's 5, fine by me too... it's irrelevant to argue anyhow... we have no say in this, only those who have to assess if a host can do it alone on 80 out of a 100 or whatever the going statistics show, and still have a very high confidence rate, much higher than 95% that all results passed to the master database is trustworthy.

Well, so far I have 19 valid WUs (w/wingman valid WUs) since the 3 errored out WUs and I'm still getting punished

It wasn't 20 valid VUs either... I have 23 valid GFAM VUs and I still get a wingman tacked on when my VUs go valid. Oh well... it seems I'm still cursed.
