Re: WCG is starting to worry me

cre8or, I know I'm only reiterating what the others have already said here, but I wanted to reassure you, you have nothing to worry about :)

It's great to see projects wrap up - the sooner we get the results back to the researchers, the sooner they can begin the (often lengthy) process of analyzing the results and gaining insight from the data.

Having so many active projects did stretch us thin, so projects ending also gives us an opportunity to catch up with adding new functionality and new projects.

So rest assured, there will be more projects to come - in fact, we've already started the technical integration work for our next project.

Good news. Thanks.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about; there are 6 active projects here including 4 from Scripps Institute. "What me worry?" wink

Re: WCG is starting to worry me

The new projects concern many of us primarily interested in advancing cancer research.
Hopefully, these concerns will be addressed and allayed.

Holiday season approaching. Machines deserve also some rest after so many months of breakneck GPU/GPU crunching. smile

Re: WCG is starting to worry me

I may share these worries about WCG if there were no work at all to crunch for. smile
Sure cancer is affecting many around but do not forget
these deadly deseases as schistosoma and leishmaniasis.
Hopefully we don't get them in our "developed" western countries
but in due time these people will have to struggle with cancer also! crying

Re: WCG is starting to worry me

I have been saying that C4CW is through, but Viktors just announced that it is probably going to get some more simulations to run. His post is here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35163

Sounds like C4CW will be on standby for many months before we get some work for it.

Re: WCG is starting to worry me

What is the latest status with this please? It appears to be over a year since the last posting. For what it's worth, I feel that having too few projects is definitely sending out the wrong signal, and in a world that is pretty screwed-up, we need an ACTIVE WCG as a beacon of hope through cooperation.

There have been a (small) Beta Test lately, of a new project. I hope, there is more in the line coming shortly. So hope's on!

Re: WCG is starting to worry me

This thread had the latest "alarm"... but there is no alarm. There are 3 active projects and at least one more in the oven (the beta thread was going bananas a couple of weeks ago). So nothing to worry about.
