Up until now, I have devoted all of my spare computing time to one project. Of late, I'm getting a message that there is "no work to process". Rather than have all of this computing power idle, I'm trying to add a new project.
----------------------------------------So here's the problem... It has been so long since I have added a project that I can't remember the email address that I set up the original project with. When BOINC agent prompts me for the email address and password under the "existing user" option, I don't recall the email address. Is there some way to recover that? So if I understand correctly:
The email address associated with the user name and password to login to this forum is the email address I enter when connecting to the project? The password is the same password I enter with the user name? If this is correct, I don't understand why I get the following message: "Login failed. Check the email address and password and try again". I have successfully changed the password using the email address listed on the account, so I know I have the correct email address. Suggestions? |

Perhaps it would be better served explaining what "project" you are attaching to...

Add a new project as in
1) Something outside WCG? 2) Additional WCG sciences? The latter you do via the My Grid > My Projects, not via the client. The former you do via BOINC Manager > Tools > Add Project, then pick one and enter the email address and password you like. |

Good idea....
I am connected to the world community grid: Help Conquer Cancer. Because I have been getting "no work to process" messages, I decided to put my computing time into milkyway@home. When joining, I get the above mentioned error message. |

There is your problem...the email address you used for Milkyway doesn't have to be the same as the one you used here. I would start by trying to contact an admin at Milkyway.
----------------------------------------Edit: If you go to their website and click the "your account" link. There is a link you can click on for "forgot email address". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Coleslaw at May 19, 2013 4:11:30 PM] |

Ok... I was able to join milkyway@home... as a new user.
I labored under the misconception that my BOINC login was good for all. Bonic projects need to be joined from the website? |

You do not need to "join" from the website, but if you forget the login info for that specific project, you would need to go to the project to try and recover it. BOINC not Bonic is just a manager that draws work from many sources. You have to give it the credentials to access each of those sources.
