Time to complete task doesn't change

I have a quick question, observation. When i don't use my computer i change my preferences to use more of the CPU time. But when i do that, i don't see the time to completion on the units change. is this a bug on the software or am i missing something?

Re: Time to complete task doesn't change

What client version exactly? Time to complete is based on 'past' progress and averages, so you wont see time run down quicker. *Also*. it still takes the same amount of CPU time, the actual cycles. The elapsed time is what you see in the manager and is the time you allow BOINC to run, so if you change from 50% to 100%, the amount of time it takes to complete still remains the same, except you'll see that elapsed time count down up quicker with 100% compared to 50%... 1 second per second rather than 1 second per 2 seconds.

edit: up, not down
