Re: Last of the new work for Help Conquer Cancer Sent

I was sorry to see this project tailing off in intensity, especially as so many people are still suffering from the effects of Cancer and so many more have yet to discover that they will follow the course trodden by so many others, some with good outcome, others less fortunate. I hope that HCC (or something similar) will re-appear on here soon to keep the good work moving forward - there seems to be so much that remains to be done...... and so little time to do it!!!!

Re: Last of the new work for Help Conquer Cancer Sent

JSYKES, I prefer to see the picture from another angle - that is, now that we've "done our bit" and given the scientists all this information/data, I'm really hopeful that they can now "plough on" and find something which will help cure/prevent the disease from spreading.

Yes, we're all here and very willing to help if another cancer project (from the same or different science group) were to launch - this time, possibly targetting the issue from another angle.

GPUGrid is processing tasks for cancer and other research. I have been working there since the HCC project completed its work.

... yes you can, long as you have an NVidia card running proprietary CUDA [but things may have changed since my last refresher on their activity]

You are correct - NVIDIA, only. I took the plunge and found the NVIDIAs worked well with HCC, too.

Re: Last of the new work for Help Conquer Cancer Sent

I wondered why my HCC queue had run dry and came on to check it out. I had no idea the work was this close to completion! I am not on the forums nearly as much as I used to be, but my machines still contribute even if I don't blushing
I was lucky enough to donate over 11 years toward this project, and that was without any GPU work. Sadly my machines have mostly turned into dinosaurs and while they are still great machines, none of the video cards were supported.
I'm hoping to see a HCC Phase 2, or something cancer related, as that is my main focus on crunching. Until then the other projects will get my support and who knows, maybe that CEP2 badge will finally turn blue wink
