[Resolved] Cannot connect to the internet after installing VPN

Hi,
I have been crunching without any problems during the past years with

Windows 7 and BOINC 6.10.58

However, since I installed a VPN client from www.PrivateInternetAccess.com last week, BOINC have not been able to connect to internet to talk to its server (although it seems to be running Works already downloaded just fine).

Please note that other applications (Firefox, IE, Thunderbird, Norton 360, etc.) seem to still be able to connect to the internet just fine with Private Internet Access active or inactive.

Proxy, [secure] https and CA certificate mangling issues spring to mind. You can config BOINC to log lots more communication [See http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Cc_config.xml ] to see where exactly the comms fall over. Downloading new work is encouraging, but often it's the uploading that's more finiky.

Errata: A basic cc_config.xml with extra log flags you find in this post by knreed http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=337106 . The manual offers more <log_flags> lines to add as appropriate to your environment setup.

Thanks so much, SekeRob. It can download and upload Works now.

Actually, l don't know enough to understand what you wrote (Sorry about that angry ) All I did was uninstalling the Private Internet Access client and reinstalling it. No idea what really happened.
