Is pdbqt size the issue here? Is there a resolution?

The only quasi positive aspect to these errors is that resources wasted is somewhat limited.

This is happening on only one of three devices all i7s W7 64bit 16GB ram 2TB dasd.

This is occurring only in VINA sciences but not every WU.

In "Start Here First" I found no reference to exit code 293. There was one item from several years ago, limited to older AMD devices, but those WUs were finishing, just not validating. These WUs are croaking right off the bat.

Thanks,
Paul

Hello pbenn1,
I do not know why you get a code 293. I doubt that the pdqbt size has anything to do with it. I can only suggest that it might be something in the local software environment. I would personally start my investigation on the affected computer with a dramatic change. Assign it a new profile (home, work, school) that you can change without affecting other computers, then cut the number of threads in half. If that does not work, see if there is anything else to change. I assume that you are running at 100% so you are not intentionally stopping threads. If nothing works, look at what else is running, particularly security programs.

Re: Is pdbqt size the issue here? Is there a resolution?

Thanks Lawrence,
You have given me a methodology, and sparked some other ideas to follow up.
I previously took an action related to your method. I un-ticked the three VINAs in question. Didn't want to continue to gen up emergency work. That device is also my personal home base, and there is at least one app I am into fairly frequently that could conceivably be hogging resources enough to put the VINA clients into an untenable position. That ZINC pdbqt reference I'm guessing refers to the resources available to the executable, whereas the one with the address to my dasd may be the data. In the error msg, the former is always dramatically smaller than the latter.
Also the assumption that the device is running 100% is not the case. I've had a lot of trouble with overheating, and I think it is running about 90% presently, but it may have been even lower April 2 and 3.
I'll let you know if I have any real success. Thanks again, Paul.

Re: Is pdbqt size the issue here? Is there a resolution?

The pdbqt line in the output give information about two pdbqt files being docked. The first is the ligand being docked and the second is the receptor site (which is why it's larger). The two numbers after each give information about the number of atoms and branches for each. That output shouldn't be related to the problem though (you should also see it in the output of a normal vina run).

As for the 293 error, that error occurs when the thread has been suspended and is attempting to be resumed (but fails). If you are able to devote time to debugging and can recreate it reliably, I'd first make sure security software isn't interfering and then see if it runs successfully with no other applications running at the same time.

Re: Is pdbqt size the issue here? Is there a resolution?

seippel,
Thank you for disabusing me of my guesswork. You have been helpful. Both you and lawrencehardin mentioned the possibility of security software interfering. I will keep those bits of info in mind. I may be doing myself in.
Thanks, Paul
