Device Profile not registered

This is my first post. I have created default and home profiles and have saved them. However, they do not show up in the device manager.

I am using Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and BOINC 7.044 64 bit. I am also registered on a Team and can't get projects from them. I am also using BOINC BAM and can do projects at 90% CPU usage. Also using IE 10. So BOINC is working, but not registering as an agent.

Re: Device Profile not registered

Hi carlprop,

WCG is only partly compatible with BAM... changes you make to device profiles at BAM do not get accepted at WCG. That said, if you make a change at WCG in the My Grid > Device Manager >> Device Profiles >>> Default/Home/Work/School profiles they should save properly, at least when I've made changes in the last few days, they've taken immediate effect.

As to WCG getting associated with your client, you have to do that directly in the client via the Tools menu > Add Project option, and select http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org from the list, then when Ok, enter user name and password as what u use to log into WCG forums. It can't be done via BAM [first time for a new client]. If BAM is already associated to your client, you may find the "add project" greyed out (not in my 7.0.47 client).

Some BAM functions transfer directly between them [BOINCSTats] and the client, which is why you have to attach a client to an Account Manager, but what bits do and don't I do not know exactly.

Hope this answers what you wanted to know.

Re: Device Profile not registered

Thanks for the quick reply! I did exactly as you outlined, and everything worked. I now have my device profiles listed and also the team that I'm registered to. I'm a total newb and appreciate your advice sincerely.
