Future projects in the pipeline

I was wondering if there could be a thread where admin or tech could comment on the future projects they are working on. They could give us a regular comment about at what stage they are, what are the issues, difficulties, until the project is delivered to the grid. To my knowledge there is no such information thread. I think it could be very useful.

Re: Future projects in the pipeline

[Quite a few times brought up] Not going to happen, guy, unless there's big PR to be earned from this such as the 3 science announcement on the water related researches [SN2S, C4CW, CFSW]. An anonymous Beta is the earliest the public is going to notice something is being prepped for big launch. That's the way it's been in the past 8 years and is surely going to remain so, in fact it appears to have become even closer to the chest going by the CA updates, which is fine by me. The hardware/server software information is a good hint we're going to be here for a long time [but that we did not doubt].

Can we start there then? A read-only thread about that beta?

Re: Future projects in the pipeline

As soon as I can get in touch with "Anonymous" I will ask them for info.

Info that is ready for publish: WCG is working to identify future projects. At this time their identity and scope are unidentified or they do not wish to be known until all details are worked out. Due to the unknown nature of the project and its viablility any info given at this time is bound to be changed in the future.

Whatever, for those not understanding what was meant with "Anonymous" [at least one it appears], a simple referral to the Beta enrollment page is where it's explained: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewBetaProfiles.do . Not improbable, the enrollee/enrollees never read the conditions below which the tickboxes were selected against which profiles Beta's were to be run.

There are cases where 'Secrecy' on one hand and on the other hand 'Anonymity' are not inter-changeable concepts. More to the point: it is the motive of secrecy why the OP's request (for a thread for future-projects) can not be granted. Anonymity is just a distraction.

Re: Future projects in the pipeline

Yep. Once we spot the beta, this is sign that a new project will appear "soon".

Re: Future projects in the pipeline

What's the point of anonymity in the first exposure of a beta? A transition from secrecy to declaration? Keep everyone guessing? I wonder why an (AMD or Intel) engineering-sample chip is not labelled by an anonymous identifier. thinking
