Hi!
----------------------------------------Debian testing, svn boinc version at revision 26158, catalyst 13.1. 1 wu is works fine by defaults. I've read this, and it's worked. A little. All previous tasks were crunched in 4-way, but no new wu were downloaded. Looks terrible
What and where should i wright to use 7770 on 4 units? Thank you. [Edit 2 times, last edit by siu77 at Jan 29, 2013 8:40:18 PM] |

Hi,
If you post the content of your cc_config.xml and app_info.xml [If you're using that], an experienced GPU cruncher that has 2 or more set to crunch concurrent on a GPGPU will be able to help you. Also tell us the exact BOINC version. Not sure, but you're trying downloading a 32 bit version app, so your Debian must be fitted with the appropriate libraries to process these. The HCC-GPU app may exist though for Linux in 64 bit. |

I don't have cc_config.xml.
app_info.xml <app_info> Exact boinc version is 7.1.0. Lies here. Compiled from source. >Not sure, but you're trying downloading a 32 bit version app Could be, but why? There is a 64-bit version for linux. I'm using a 64-bit linux. Maybe something wrong with teg <platform>x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</platform>, cause guy on ubuntu said, that all is fine for his system? And, when boinc crunching 1 WU on my system, it uses 64-bit version. I've checked. Buy the way, i've tried make the file app_config.xml , but it has no effect. I suppose, it's windows only. |

Wherever the branch or trunk 7.1.0 version comes from, not production endorsed. We're now on 7.0.45 as latest alpha build from Berkeley, where WCG [unofficially] supports 7.0.31-7.0.45, builds from latter having the app_config.xml feature.
Suggest to revert to a supported build and ditch app_info [it will be banned soon anyhow], and use the much simplified app_config.xml which does not require any platform speccing. The server will know what to send based on client info... and No, app_config.xml applies to all platforms for 7.0.40 and up [officially]. |

SekeRob, thanks.
I've build a new version from git. It works for now. Still 7.1.0 though. ) boinc --version And I've found a tutorial for multiple GPU's. My app_config.xml : <app_config> 7770 is crunching 4 WU's ( 0.25 CPU + 0.25 ATI GPUs ) for about 10 minutes each. The problem is solved. I suppose. |

Coowl. Why your private build pumps out 7.1.0 (which would in development be the pre-alpha to the 7.2.xx series), I do not know... maybe it's because it's a way to signify private builds?
On app_config, don't know what hardware you got running but having 4 HCC-GPU tasks supported by just one CPU thread [<cpu_usage>.25</cpu_usage>] is dapper. If it runs it runs, but experimenting with a 0.5 value [2 GPU tasks supported by 1 CPU thread] might run things a faster. "Experimenting" would be the operative word. If you edit the OP post title and insert [RESOLVED], we know there's a fix. P.S. Ubuntu forum supporting Debian?... not expected them to do that. These are the Debian forums which you may already know: http://forums.debian.net/ |

Sorry, but my english is to weak to explain my points. I understand you, of course. With online translator. ))P.S. Ubuntu forum supporting Debian?... not expected them to do that. Actually, Ubuntu is based on Debian, so in most cases, all that works in Debian will work in Ubuntu. |

Hello Siu,
----------------------------------------I got a Radeon 7750 and have not figured out how to get the opencl driver. Can you, please help? I have tried debian squeeze, ubuntu 12.10, and Lubuntu. I am currently trying Lubuntu. lspci sees ... Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Cape Verde PRO [Radeon HD 7700 series] a lsmod shows a module named "radeon". a modinfo shows the filename: /lib/modules/3.5.0-25-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/radeon.ko and firmware radeon/VERDE_rlc.bin radeon/VERDE_mc.bin radeon/VERDE_ce.bin radeon/VERDE_me.bin radeon/VERDE_pfp.bin and boinc-client 7.0.27+dfsg-5ubuntu0.12.04.1 when starting, boinc says: No usable GPUs found. I assume I do not have the opencl driver. How can I get this? (preferably on Debian)?? T H A N K Y O U!! Jay ![]() |
