Hopefully Uplinger will find something interesting and/or useful from this particular WU. Edit: Mine (and the _4 copy) went valid, whilst copes _0 _1 & _2 were classed as invalid). I got a couple invalids... the only commonality I see is AMD dual core processors. 1 is windows; 1 fedora; the windows machine is still running the old WCG-branded 6.2.28; the fedora is running 6.10.45
The 6.2.28 BOINC says 'failed to get VersionInfo size: 1812' But I don't see where the 6.10.45 version had any errors. The replications that are marked valid are from BOINC versions all over the place... 6.10.x, 6.12.x, 7.0.x... Result Name: BETA_ faah38220_ ZINC12780066_ xPR_ wC6_ 11_ 1ref9_ 01_ 0-- Result Name: BETA_ faah38220_ ZINC44866096_ xPR_ wC6_ 11_ 1ref9_ 01_ 1-- <core_client_version>6.10.45</core_client_version> I also have 1 still in progress and 3 PVs, so maybe I'm posting too soon. |

This beta has caused more than the usual invalids. It appears that the code is diverging the results early in the calculations. We are investigating why that is. It does not appear to be consistent across platform/CPU/OS so we will be testing some more soon.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

... It does not appear to be consistent across platform/CPU/OS so we will be testing some more soon. Looking to do more of the same with nothing changed (to further confirm what's already on hand, else meet some confidence-level targets), or is the case more like releasing fresh beta-WUs with some parameter(s) changed this time around? A little of both, perhaps? ; ; andzgridPost#833 ; |

I got about 22 work units, most were valid but 4 were declared invalid - and those were done on my Ubuntu boxen.

One of the main things we're going to be reviewing is the validation of these work units. The application has new functions and new paths that previous work units have not encountered. So we are making sure they don't diverge or cause invalids. Well, I got 3 out of a dozen or so I got across 4 hosts that turned out to be invalid. That's on two different hosts and it seems all of them have at least one invalid result from a wingman as well... Ralf |
