With the Win7, having two GPUs crunching is not bad, but with the LinuxMint unit and two crunching GPUs I can hardly do anything else.
----------------------------------------Just checking for a file with the file manager is very frustratingly slow. It's very very slow, but I hadn't intended to do anything else with the i7 but let it crunch. I wonder if it is the OS or if it is the GPUs. The two units do have different OSs and different GPU sets. ![]() ![]() O/S -LinuxMint 64-bit, Release 13 (maya). DE: Cinnamon [Edit 2 times, last edit by Gandalf_PCHF at Feb 2, 2013 6:42:11 PM] |

That is my experience too with mint. I settled for the idea that the issue is with the implementation of drivers in Mint.
----------------------------------------I have not done an apples to apples comparison but whilst cpu work is faster on Mint the fact that there are not the same choices for overclocking gpu in Linux makes it slower too. ![]() |

I've never been into overclocking. If God wanted it to go faster, he would have given it wings. :~)
