confused What the heck is this

Found these messages in the event log this morning. Never seen anything like it. Can a tech give me an explanation?

4 tasks supposedly exited and then restarted. They all completed and uploaded.

Hi nanoprobe,
I think that your computer checked the internet time and found that your system clock was at least a second off. Resetting the system clock has an effect on BOINC.

I never reset the system clock and I continue to get the same messages.

Since this machine runs 24/7/365 and is on a UPS I wouldn't think so but I'll take a look.

That doesn't mean a thing. If the time is not regularly synchronized against a time server on the Internet, almost all systems tend to drift one way or another. And on Windows, the default sync against Micro$oft's time servers doesn't work, most of the time...

There are the rare machines which will have time drift no matter what you do. If it is a time problem, merely disable whatever time syncing you are using. It is the abrupt time change when a syncing action occurs which disrupts BOINC (if I remember correctly it is in setting back the time, not advancing it.) I do not remember this being a problem when we go from standard time to daylight savings time, so I may be way off base. I do remember having to deal with a wayward DVD recorder which refused to keep proper time. You could advance the time but not go back in the provided software to prevent you from recording over an already used time stamp. The only way to go back was to shutdown and correct the time in the BIOS. I know I rambled, but maybe something would help. Good luck.
Cheers
