Even if Hyper had 10,000 results, there's a million going around daily, and that's just for HCC. What is a potential problem is if there are mountains of errors. This stuffs the distributor, since repairs only go to "reliable" devices. The only one who could answer this are the techs, to include a "what if" there are too many repairs... would the "reliable devices" distribution be temp switched off, to clear the shared memory slots? For sure, not doing GPU at WCG, zero problem getting backfills of CPU tasks... the occasional "No work for..." and oddly, DSFL, on the DSFL/CEP2 mix running dual core.

Could Hypernova's cache actually be related to this dry patch everyone else is experiencing? How does one get 5 days worth of cache? I never see more than an hour or two .... Hmm... Depending on how many solar-masses Hypernova's black hole has, I'd say 4 days worth of HCC-GPU cache is reasonable, give or take a few tens of thousands solar-masses.. As to whether that mass is enough to deflect the WCG-galaxy off course toward oblivion, maybe not. ![]() ; ; andzgridPost#724 ; |

A 7970 can burn through 400 tasks in 4 to 5 hours.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

This is not post 725, but 404105. Yes, the rest over and above the 400 allowed "in progress" that Hypernova has on each of his systems will be CPU tasks.

This is not post 725, but 404105. ![]() The post you quote says Post#724, where the quick response box had 404104 over it, at the time. ;>) |

It looks like I have run out of GPU WUs again. All machines set to do HCC GPU work only are dry.
