I run my notebook 24/7,and chose to get GPU WU since WCG started to deliver them.
Later I unchecked the option on the web in order to get CPU WU only, but since then I receive no WU...... Every time I checked the GPU option the server sends WU, but only for GPU,and I can't any WU when I unchecked it~ May the admin of the server check for the cause of problem? I have tried to reset the project in BOINC but it doesn't work...... 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Starting BOINC client version 7.0.36 for windows_x86_64 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Libraries: libcurl/7.25.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1 zlib/1.2.6 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC\data 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Running under account user 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Processor: 8 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz [Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7] 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Processor: 256.00 KB cache 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 syscall nx lm vmx tm2 popcnt aes pbe 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Ultimate x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Memory: 15.91 GB physical, 15.91 GB virtual 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Disk: 150.00 GB total, 73.11 GB free 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Local time is UTC +8 hours 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | VirtualBox version: 4.1.20 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Couldn't get Device IDs for platform #0: error -1 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 550M (driver version 310.54, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 2048MB, 1989MB available, 326 GFLOPS peak) 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 550M (driver version 310.54, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 2048MB, 1989MB available) 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | World Community Grid | URL http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/; Computer ID 1680247; resource share 100 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | World Community Grid | General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 20-Nov-2012 20:16:47) 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | World Community Grid | Host location: none 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | World Community Grid | General prefs: using your defaults 2012/12/5 上午 04:42:55 | World Community Grid | update requested by user 2012/12/5 上午 04:42:55 | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 2012/12/5 上午 04:42:55 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: project is not highest priority 2012/12/5 上午 04:43:00 | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed 2012/12/5 上午 05:02:09 | World Community Grid | update requested by user 2012/12/5 上午 05:02:12 | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 2012/12/5 上午 05:02:12 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: project is not highest priority 2012/12/5 上午 05:02:16 | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed |

What projects do you support outside of WCG? This line suggest you have other projects that are owed CPU time.

2012/12/5 上午 04:42:55 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: project is not highest priority
This line suggests that another project(s) attached to the client is/are having higher work fetch priority. If there are [BOINCStats suggests so], suspend work fetch for those in the projects tab. This line 2012/12/5 上午 01:32:52 | | Couldn't get Device IDs for platform #0: error -1 I can't remember having seen before. Could this be VirtualBox [LHC] related? |

[ot]I just installed a AMD GPU on a PC that was using the Intel internal GPU. I disabled the internal GPU when I installed the card. After loading the drivers I started BOINC and got the same message. The device is getting both CPU and GPU tasks. The device is not running VirtualBox. From the little I've been able to get with google it appears to be related to the disabled internal GPU and I haven't seen any problems getting WUs or completing them[/ot]

It probably 'counts' your WCG GPU as the WCG 'share' so you will NOT get any CPU ones.

universebreaker,
----------------------------------------If WCG is the only client doing CPU, and other projects such as GPUGRID dont, than WCG has used up all "share". Question is if the CPU is being used now by any project? As I suggested in my previous post, to force the hand you can temp suspend work fetch for all other projects except WCG, fill up your buffer with WCG CPU tasks and resume work fetch for others. To see the work fetch rights go in client to project tab, select WCG and click properties. It should be telling you the priority and CPU/GPU work fetch state. Frankly I do not know for CPU/GPU mixed clients if the used time is accounted separately or summed, if "used" resource accounted separately or in one pot? Just know that someone asked the developers to show a split fetch entitlement in the Properties screen, which is my 7.0.39 test client is not showing... only CPU fetch, though it has been doing GPU work too, with 2 projects attached and one only having GPU work. edit: There is a used share value and there used to be a reset function <zero_debts>1</zero_debts> (Use one time only) for cc_config.xml if you needed to, but that was removed in client 7. The share principle is now credit based (per client)... which kind of suggests that CPU+GPU share time is one pot. I'm sure the last has not been said how client 7 accounts for past use of computing share. (I only do WCG on CPU, so dont notice). I have noticed that GPU counts towards this debt at other projects. So, the behavior you are seeing is indeed normal.

ar......I have just searched on google and found the answer:
it seems the gpu task much lowered the project's priority, and cause it not to get the WUs can I manually override the BOINC setting to set all projects to have the same priority or disable that control mechanism? |

That's what we've been telling you... you earn loads of credits with the GPU, so no reason to give WCG more time of any kind. Read back in thread how to force the hand to get WCG-CPU work.
