Hello RenegadeBovine, This is just a bewildered stab. Did your 7770 machine have an earlier GPU whose device drivers were not uninstalled? I think that there is something peculiar about the installation / software environment of the 7770. Lawrence Both machines previously had 4000-series Radeons in them and I did the same driver upgrade process on both. |

I saw that the error message of my workunits writes the following:

Think we had a similar report before... device not found. Look for posts by knreed... he may have commented on the case (Can't remember). Are you still on BOINC 7.0.36?

Knew I'd see it before (here an ATI 6370):
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=395297 It could be the drivers [going back to near top of thread]. Many a mention of driver cleaning software was made before trying to install again. For sure, if you happen to have an app_info ATM I'd remove and restart client so that BOINC defaults are used. Presently I'm miffed over the GPU having grabbed 1GB of RAM over and above the 1GB on the card... showing 2 GB when identified by BOINC. I don't want it to take the RAM. It impairs running 4 CEP2 concurrently. Did not find any BIOS settings to stop it from doing it. This came closest in answer to the issue, but no resolution: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/8498-63-stop-sharing-windows |

Hello.
I have started to crunch GPU units this week and yesterday it started to download GPU units which gets an Error result in 2 seconds (most of them). What do I do wrong? |

OK. these last 2 lines are critical:
Estimated kernel execution time = 5.50464 [sec] ERROR: Kernel execution time estimate too high, exiting. The GPU task includes a minitest at start to see if your GPU card is fast enough. It is not, at least the CPU+GPU+OS combination does not process the test fast enough, so it aborts. I have the same thing with a GT220, so I've deselected GPU computing for WCG in the relevant profile. |

Aha, thanks for this. Weird that this happens at most units but some of them are processed ok..
