Re: Every WU result is Invalid

I just found out that even thought I bought non-overclockable CPU, it is overclockable (i7 3770) thanks to Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. When crunching via app info, TBT activates CPU clock frequency boosting (from 3.4 to up to 3.9 GHz), so this might be the reason of my invalid VINA projects results.

I know this is not your problem piroque, just hijacking your thread peace

Cheers and NI!

Re: Every WU result is Invalid

branjo, if your TBT featured 3770 would fail on the variable ITBT, mine would have done that long. My 2670QM varies the GHZ constantly based on overall demand and system temps between 2.2 and 2.6 and in steps of 99Mhz can go as low as 0.9 and as high as 3.1 [full turbo, which I get e.g. when Excel does an 8 threaded heavy sheet calculation]. For sure if TBT on 3770 would do harm to the VINA task and turn them invalid, it would have come out already. The techs have the statistical detail.

Re: Every WU result is Invalid

pirogue, *everything* going invalid is closest to there being an timing issue in the device... OC is one cause. Whilst the newer clients offer better management of GPU crunching, I can't possibly see the client doing anything to the science app - which is doing the work - 32 bit or 64 bit, Linux or Woz?
