Resolution: Don't know what the problem was originally, but after I put the old video card back in I had to reset the bios and I forgot to fix the date. That was the problem this thread relates to.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------OP follows This is kind of a long story so I'm leaving things out but basically what happened was this. I installed a 7870 card in a 2P server. Disaster. Not only did it comp error every single work unit but it also burned out my crappy KVM. After I figured that out tried to reinstall BOINC. Kept resetting itself to 'no new tasks' and suspend after I would force an update. Right now I just flicked on 'new tasks' and un-suspended it. It says it will reconnect in 2 hours. I can post the log info but I'd have to sneaker net it since I know jack about setting up servers. Anyway, if it's like to resolve itself . . . Thank you. edit: oh, I was using an app_info both with an w/o the comp errors but the file is definitely gone now since I deleted the entire BOINC prog data directory.
