Potential validator issue when you're your own wingman?

These have been in PV since the 12th.

X0900075720441200609121114_ 0-- 2600K2 Pending Validation 11/12/12 08:19:09 11/12/12 09:30:10 0.02 / 0.09 30.1 / 0.0
X0900075720441200609121114_ 1-- 2600K Pending Validation 11/12/12 08:19:07 11/12/12 09:30:16 0.03 / 0.10 33.6 / 0.0

They were returned within 6 seconds of each other. The Try Validation link worked, but why wouldn't they validate automatically?

Re: Potential validator issue when you're your own wingman?

Nothing related to being your own occasional of-chance wingman. The "Try Validation" [See Start Here FAQs] was created exactly because ... occasionally the scheduler flag is not set to send them up to the validator queue [reason unknown, but it's curious this passed from server v 601 to v 700]. Long story short, eventually they will be forced, first time around when the scheduler checks if a "No Reply" copy needs sending, and concludes that it is not required.

Re: Potential validator issue when you're your own wingman?

I just found another one.
X0930076010155200609281304_ 1-- 2600K Pending Validation 11/14/12 07:25:15 11/14/12 09:07:07 0.06 / 0.17 64.5 / 0.0
X0930076010155200609281304_ 0-- 2600K2 Pending Validation 11/14/12 07:25:11 11/14/12 09:03:47 0.06 / 0.26 62.7 / 0.0

I also found quite a few where there were 2 PVs with a validate link from the 12th and 13th, where I wasn't responsible for both.

It may be a good time to run the "IF PVs>=2 THEN Try Validation" script. (If there is such a thing.)

In both examples, mine were the only 2. There were no retries or errors.

I've said all there is to say [in my post with 1 edit]. The Start Here FAQ expands and links to Tech discussion IIRC.

Edit: There wont a script [load consideration]

[self flame mode on]WCG needs a server status page[self flame mode off]

The validators were stopped at the time those were returned. They have validated now.

Re: Potential validator issue when you're your own wingman?

Rob: Even after reading the FAQ, I'm a little foggy on the process.
Since they were sent on the 12th and presumably due on the 19th, would they have been caught and validated on the 19th?

Kevin: They validated okay when I clicked the Try Validation link.
I'm not sure how the status page would have helped.

Part of my first reply said "... eventually they will be forced, first time around when the scheduler checks if a "No Reply" copy needs sending, and concludes that it is not required." Yes, when the 7 days have passed, there's a check.

If there were a server status page, you could have seen the validator was off "at the time" when that happened, then when you hit Try Validation with them on, the were swiftly processed.

<joke>
Trinity: Heard that sound?
Cypher: What sound?

Trinity: The sound that just played out: "WCG needs a server status page"
Cypher: Oh that sound, yeah, the data just popped out on my screen... the XML-tags are encrypted... Ok, I just decrypted the XML-tags and they spell out, and I quote -- I'm just teasing andzgrid -- end of quote.

Trinity: Yeah, I can sense it too, I mean the XML-tags... good job decrypting it, Cypher! laughing
