Hi nanoprobe,
Maybe GPUs simply barge ahead and complete their assigned bit operations, leaving classification and error detection in the result to the server?

I don't know. I am just making a guess that seems reasonable to me.

I've had 3 more from different machines and my result looks the same as the ones that were declared as valid. I'm going to print them out at home later so I can so a side by side comparison.

Here are the logs from mine reported as error and wingman reported as valid. Other than the times, 32 bit OS vs.64 bit OS can anyone explain why one was valid and the other an error?

nanoprobe, you may have something in there. I'm not sure if it's related but I recall having seen valuations of doneWUs marked as 'Error' but no explanation of the error -- a blank resultsStatus page, sometimes with the BOINC-version used not even shown.

The server database logs might contain more information about this, but they roll over very quickly. We've increased the roll-over period for these logs a bit. If you have another occurrence, can you report that one as well so we can check the logs?
