 Good Saturday Morning Team Congratulations xroule, David Autumns and darth_vader!!!  We had this outage, well really just an extreme shortage of HCC work this past day or two. Among lots of others, it caused me to do some scrambling as I was running nothing but HCC (CPU, AMD GPU and NVIDIA GPU varieties). Finally last evening, things got sorted back out thanks to WCG and Uplinger specifically. They worked on what was a holiday to most of us in the U.S. I have to go do my check on the crunchers but I think this old steamer has all the boilers fired again. Everyone have a great Saturday. I get to play with all the grandkids and ggbaby again today |

My points were low yesterday because my graphics card on the HP quad bit the dust. I bought a new one that is an EVGA GEFORCE GT 610. The BOINC messages say the Help Conquer Cancer GPU cannot run on my graphics card. The level of BOINC I have on that system is 6.10.18.
Any ideas? |

I believe you'll have to upgrade BOINC to the latest 7.x level.
----------------------------------------EDIT: Interesting. According to the help, it's supposed to work for BOINC 6.10. Check your profile(s) and make sure you enabled the GPU option. It's off by default I believe. EDIT2: Ah, here's why. EDIT2: Ah, here's why. The Geoforce GT 610 is listed in the help as one of the cards that isn't supported for GPU. Thanks keithhenry. Do you know why this is the case? I got the 610 because it had a reasonable price for +20 MHz superclocking. Does the GPU support check for the specific card and not provide any GPU work for the GT 610? I think I'll check one of the other forums and ask the above question. |

@ dkt. Here is the list of cards that are NOT compatible to run the HCC GPU app. Unfortunately your GT 610 is on that list. The way I understand how it works is that if your card is on that list you will not be sent any GPU work and you'll see a message in the event log showing that.

What I do not like about finding the graphics card on a list is changes may have been made to a later version of the card which will allow it to be used for the HCC project. A list does not provide any reason as to why it cannot be used. The version I have may not have the problem which prevents it from being used.
