Intel Burn test is pretty much fool proof - if your CPU survives that is.
----------------------------------------I'm joking about the surviving part - mostly - since all modern CPU's have thermal check circuits that should shut them off like a light switch if they really do get too hot. But the point is that IBT will stress your chip AND memory to the limit depending on how you set the parameters. edit: here is a link to a dl from Major Geeks but it is also available elsewhere, just google it. ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by twilyth at Jan 21, 2013 2:17:19 PM] |

Many has been running a single project for many months, and thinks their computer is "stable", but the moment they tries another project they errors-out, and some of these users starts complaining about "buggy application" and so on... This is a piece of a puzzle whose shape seem to be a nice fit for some areas of this puzzle. We are seeing more clearly now the whole picture of the Error-Invalid-Valid continuum as it crosses the software and hardware dimensions for a WU in grid-computing. Nice. ![]() ; ; andzgridPost#829 ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 28, 2013 5:48:41 AM] |
