Long story short, I need a gizmo that runs somewhere on my LAN perhaps on all machines, perhaps just one, that alerts me when one of the machines goes belly-up. Ideally it would have the options of poping up a message on a designated machine and sending emails to multiple accounts or some such.
----------------------------------------Yes, I know of BoincView but from what I can tell it was written for XP and the author has disapeared; I have not tried it on my LAN which includes Vista, Win7 and Win8. Anyone know of anything like that? |

Think the long known, and much better BOINCTasks has a rule facility to send Notices, so if it monitors a remote machine and detects something you specify, you'll get a notice on the machine where BT runs on. Certainly saw you can configure mobile access, password protected.
This is the catalog of known add-on software. Some items have dead links, which is telling on the level of maintenance. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/addons.php |
