Re: Issue with ATI Gigabyte HD 7970

I see diverging opinions here between nanoprobe and piroque. Installing the SDK is straightforward and takes a few minutes. So better have it than not. biggrin

Maybe the SDK is not necessary but as it works like this I will make no further change.

It is necessary. Without the SDK your card will not run the tasks.

What's needed to run Open-CL apps have been included in CCC package for quite awhile. So there's no need to install the SDK.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. CCC is buggy, causes driver crashes, BSODs and I wouldn't use under any circumstances. JMHO

Re: Issue with ATI Gigabyte HD 7970

I installed everything in the custom list from the beta install and have not had a hang, BSOD, or error ever since.

Glad it's working problem free for you. I was just giving MHO from past experiences. Since all of my machines are dedicated crunchers running on 32GB SSDs I never felt the need to install any more than what was necessry to run the tasks.
