conquer Cancer 6.56 (nvidia_hcc1) not playing fair

I am running three different projects that are using my nvidia card. I can always tell when this project starts using the card because my desktop updates stop. It takes me several minutes to navigate to boinc so I can turn off the GPU usage (while computer is in use) so I can use my computer.

The screen will only update once every few seconds to show me where the mouse is. Very frustrating. This has been happening since I started getting these WUs a couple weeks ago.

I don't have this problem with any other GPU projects (Einstein or SETI).

Am I the only one seeing this?

Have you tried looking into the app_info.xml file in this thread? https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,34036

You just have to be aware that there are problems running other WCG CPU projects at the same time. I have seen posts that state you can only run one CPU project in addition the HCC GPU and it has to have an entry of its own in the file.

I was not aware of that, but there is a response that says hcc doesn't check and doesn't use those settings. I have also noted that when I have hcc1 tasks to run I don't seem to have any other WCG apps to execute.

One other observation. I would say ~80% of the WUs fail after 2 seconds of execution (instead of 24-25 minutes). I checked the error on one of them and it said it failed because it was trying to get 2.3 seconds (I don't remember the exact number) of kernel time. It seems that is probably related to the problem.
