I have a PC that's been crunching WCG for a few years. Recently, I noticed that I keep getting error messages about:
----------------------------------------World Community Grid | This computer has finished a daily quota of 1 tasks There are several of these from the last week (I didn't see a higher quota). It seems like this is a problem. How do I go about troubleshooting this? Going through my WCG error stats, even though I just added HCC a few minutes ago and was running DSL and HFCC for the last couple of months, I see a lot of errors reported by HCC units. There also seem to be a lot of these: <core_client_version>7.0.28</core_client_version> ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by ashes999 at Oct 21, 2012 10:28:45 AM] |

Since you recently added HCC you may be getting GPU units.
Your reported error appears to be related to GPU. See this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost_post,370155 |

With regards to the other sciences, you shouldn't be suffering from the "Daily quota of 1 tasks" issue - thus, could you please post the first 30 odd lines of your BOINC messages tab (so as we can see your set-up), along with all the errors you're seeing around these messages you're reporting.
----------------------------------------Also, if you could go into your Results page and paste any/all error messages you're seeing (over and above any you've already reported for HCC - that's a special case, as it's possibly GPU related). ![]() |

<core_client_version>7.0.28</core_client_version> If you have an ATI GPU you need to intall the ATI SDK for HCC to successfully use it. I had the same problem 2 days ago and installing the SDK (an option in the ATI installer) fixed it. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 21, 2012 2:12:33 PM] |

It could be a detection issue. BOINC says "Radeon HD 5700 series," but it's actually a Radeon HD 6770.

Mine is a 67xx and Boinc also reports it as a 5700 series but it's working anyway.

The latest drivers BSOD my computer seconds after XP boots. I'm trying to roll back to a stable version.

The original OP notes this error
- exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135) The first and the 3rd reply give the answer to fixing that [installing the ATI-SDK]. Think that XP is not far off from getting dropped support. May have seen a comment already in the developers mail list to that effect, meaning future clients wont be installing/running properly on this age-old OS, superseded by Vista > Windows 7 > Windows 8 [end of this week, Friday October 26]. Myself, been running Linux on my Q6600 since a few years. Does the DSFL/SN2S/GFAM 60-65% faster than Windows 7 on the same machine. Maybe worth considering once the HCC-GPU is starting to be beta tested or goes to production [if we ever get that far] |

Yes, I loathe Vista, so I'm loathe to upgrade -- although I am running into more of these issues. I guess I'm stuck for now without GPU power for WCG. Which is sad, because that's the entire reason I bought my GPU in the first place.
