Hi all,
----------------------------------------I know I'm not the only one running an ATI Radeon EAT6770. I just re-enabled HCC, downloaded three GPU tasks, and they all errored out ("computation error") in 0-1 seconds. Am I the only one who sees this problem? Event lots are below. 10/21/2012 6:05:42 AM | World Community Grid | Starting task X0960070671430200606211318_0 using hcc1 version 656 (ati_hcc1) in slot 4 10/21/2012 6:05:44 AM | World Community Grid | Computation for task X0960070671430200606211318_0 finished 10/21/2012 6:05:44 AM | World Community Grid | Output file X0960070671430200606211318_0_0 for task X0960070671430200606211318_0 absent 10/21/2012 6:05:44 AM | World Community Grid | Starting task X0960070671431200606211318_1 using hcc1 version 656 (ati_hcc1) in slot 4 10/21/2012 6:05:45 AM | World Community Grid | Computation for task X0960070671431200606211318_1 finished 10/21/2012 6:05:45 AM | World Community Grid | Output file X0960070671431200606211318_1_0 for task X0960070671431200606211318_1 absent 10/21/2012 6:05:45 AM | World Community Grid | Starting task X0960070671415200606211318_1 using hcc1 version 656 (ati_hcc1) in slot 4 10/21/2012 6:05:47 AM | World Community Grid | Computation for task X0960070671415200606211318_1 finished 10/21/2012 6:05:47 AM | World Community Grid | Output file X0960070671415200606211318_1_0 for task X0960070671415200606211318_1 absent ![]() |

Nope, just this one. The old GPU died and I replaced it, if that's what you mean.

Are you running BOINC as a daemon (service)?

Just 1 (one) Result log file, pretty please, that's all we want to see. (Click on error link on Result Status page).

I had this same problem with my wife's graphics card. It was because we installed updates to the card and started up BOINC right after. It errored out INSTANTLY after 1 second no matter what I did (restarted the client, reinstalled client, etc...).
----------------------------------------A quick system restart fixed the problem and the GPU has been working perfectly since. Have you tried a restart? She has a Gforce GTS 450 in her computer. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by BigMcGuire at Oct 21, 2012 3:24:39 PM] |

Sorry, I hosed my system by updating to the latest GPU drivers and only now got back to stability.
----------------------------------------I am running it as a service. @Rob I'm not sure what you mean, sorry. Here's a dump of one of the WUs which errored out; the actual message when you click on the "Error" link is the same as the bottom of my first post in this thread. Click on the "Error" link on the Result Status page, presuming that the middle result is yours. Your first post gives the client message log only which is something different.
Running BOINC as a service prevents GPU crunching on Windows, with exception of XP [FAIK]. Linux does not know this driver accessibility issue. |

Sorry, I'm really confused.
----------------------------------------I'm not running BOINC as a service. I know this, because I can crunch GPU WUs on other projects. A sample error log is below. There seem to be quite a lot of this particular error. <core_client_version>7.0.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135) </message> ]]> I mentioned this in another thread: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,34102_offset,0#397306 I'm running 32-bit XP, so I can't upgrade my GPU without BSODing my OS on boot. I think it's safe to say, I'm stuck without GPU crunching for the time being. Thanks for all your help. ![]() |

OK, not as a service which is fine, which means that BOINC is running under the user account. The key is maybe the OpenCL requirement [not OpenGL]. If that is used at your other GPU projects, then it's the level of the OpenCL driver and the compute capability level that needs to be right for WCG.
The - exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135) error is frequent, yes and opened a separate topic with this error in the title in hopes that fewer ask and go directly to the solution, which may or may not help you given you're on XP. The particulars summed up of your computer: Windows XP 32 bit ATI Radeon EAT6770 BOINC version x.xx installed as user. CPU ????? Maybe another cruncher has same combo and got it working, to give assistance how / what to install. |
