----------------------------------------I'm not sure it was the memory as such. I'm outside my comfort zone talking in depth about hardware settings.  But mikey159b's comment got me surfing to find info about possible settings for the AMD card. I think that I'd changed the settings on AMD Catalyst Control Center some months back. I restored factory defaults and shortly after GPU WUs started to flow.  Sorry I can't be more specific. |

I was having this same problem on my laptop with twin ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 cards. I solved it by going into the BOINC computing preferences and increasing the memory usage to 90% when computer is in use. You may be able to select something less than 90%, but it's up and running for me. I'll tweak it later.
