It's a combination of hardware and other processes that may be running in the background on any given computer. I think I can come of with an app_info file for each brand of card that should help. When I get it ready I'll start a new thread here.

Nvidia gtx570 in Asus GENE ROG, 2600k, OCed to 4.4G, almost error free.
----------------------------------------nvidia gtx 285, error free for 12 hrs after retruning cpu to stock speed. I plan on buying a couple of new cards to dedicate to HCC full time. I'd like to see threads on PPD averages, PPD vs cost, PPD per Watt Hour. Any thing we post now would be premature but in 2-3weeks we should have a data base. Thanks for all the help especially you nanaprobe. I find you posts informative and useful. B2I  |

i'm really looking for lack free and running 24-7 while still useing the pc. Does any amd cards cause lack? if so then they are not what I am looking for.

Just set preferences to suspend the gpu for .5 minutes when in use.

2600K w/ a 7870 runs great. I even tried watching a video while crunching and didn't notice any lagging.

I was a bit suprised, when I first realised, my precious gaming rig cannot playback an sd divx file smoothly any more:) Of course, it is absolutely acceptable price, I shut down the bionic client, when I use the PC for entertaintment (vids/gaming), and gladly devote it to compute these important task, when I don't need it's processing power personaly:) Both GPU is working at 100% utilization, but somehow it still remains quite cold, it can cool down between the data packs I guess, or it only uses a part of the GPU... I really welcome the opportunity to use the GPU's! I intend to add a passive HD 7750 in my htpc (always on:) soon... |

so far all i see is the amd 7870 as the only one that does not studder while using windows. Hard to understand
