Whenever I look at the scores of teams and members on the web site, I find that the statistics are not kept up-to-date very well, at least not as well as other distributed computing program sites like Stanford's Folding@Home. Surely IBM in all its great power could tweak the refresh rates a bit, say, once per hour instead of once a day?

This was chosen because we didn't know the load we would initially be under. We are looking into the feasibility of updating the stats more frequently. I can't give you a timeframe, but it's on our radar. - Rick Alther World Community Grid Application Developer

i think stats is one of the worst things on here. for instance other DC projects update very quickly, also there are 2 key counters that spring to mind TKC and whatpulse - these update straight away. so i can send results and then visit site and my new score will be there. im not saying iit needs to be that fast but maybe cut it back to every 2 hours/ 4 hours.

Faster updates would be great.
It's frustrating having to look at last days results whenever one's checking :) |

especially when a unit takes 50 hours and just misses the 2nd days upodate by about 2 hours, on the 3rd day tho your stats really leap lol

Hell, did you not look a SETI or other distributed computing outfit before? I understand that IBM is involved. That does not reassure me. They have over 3000 patents every years. Most of them is on re-inventing the wheel. God forbids they would benifit from someone else experiance. I know how they are , I work for them. It will take a long time before this organisation get to the point SETI reached. Unless UD gets to it themself. Dont wait for IBM. They got the puplicity they wanted now forget about them. ![]() THE ).( IS NAKED! Do you know what your PC is doing ??? |

Thank you, Rick for focusing on the update rate. The updates will get people hooked sooner and they'll stay engaged longer if they watch the meter climbing on a more frequent basis.
