Re: GPU usage, Windows is getting slow

We have started work on adopting the V7 client. The security review starts next week. We cannot formally 'approve' the V7 client until it has cleared both the security review as well as some other internal processes.

About 40% of our volunteers use a version of the client more recent than 6.10 and they seem to have success using it. Thus we cannot recommend that update pending the above statements, but we don't say that you can't use it either.

Maybe not officially, but I have BOINC 7.0.28 x64 happily working with WCG work units absolutely no problem.

Re: GPU usage, Windows is getting slow

Hi!

I've been running GPU works on my HD6950 1gb (Note that I have 2 monitor plugged), and when it starts working, when I move windows, it's really slow.

I've tried to find a way to get the GPU usage to under 30%, but can't find any options.

Also, I've tried to let the computer work only when idling, in BOINC, nada, doesn't work.

ANyone have this issue?

It would be nice to have more computer over the GPU, like idling only GPU when computer is in use :)

Thanks smile

Do you have Catalyst Control Center (CCC) installed? If you do, suggest you turn on overdrive, then change the settings to a minimum to start with and see if it makes a difference. I have the 6950 2GB and seems to work for me.
